Help
How to use the start clock with beeps.
Opening the settings
Click anywhere on the main screen to open the settings popup. Click ✕ or outside the popup to close it.
Sound
- The app beeps for the last five seconds before every whole minute (55–59 s).
- On every whole minute (second 0) you hear a longer, louder beep.
- Turn on sound with the Enable sound button in the settings.
- Adjust the volume with the Volume slider.
- Choose browser voice (offline) for name reading without internet, or AI voice (online) for better quality.
Start list
CSV format: HH:MM,name, club, class per row. JSON: an array of objects with the fields time, name, club and class.
- Random names — shows up to five random competitors each minute.
- No start list — shows no names.
- Load from file — upload a CSV or JSON file with starts.
- Import from Eventor (API) — fetch the start list straight from Eventor with an event ID and API key.
- From ControlFreak Event (QR code) — read the start list with the camera from ControlFreak Event (Till startklockan on the Startlistor page). No network needed.
- Class filter — uncheck classes you don't want to show; the choice is saved and applies to file, Eventor and random names.
Time offset
You can shift the displayed time by hours and minutes under Time offset. Useful for repeating an earlier start or preparing for a coming one.
Once a start list is loaded, Jump to first start shifts the displayed time to one minute before the first start in the list.
Set to ControlFreak Event — under Time you set the clock to the competition computer: choose the tab Ställ klockan under Till startklockan in ControlFreak Event and point the camera at the code for a few seconds. The clock then agrees with the computer to within about a tenth of a second. Do it shortly before the first start, and again if the device resets its own clock.
Spoken names
When sound is on, the app reads the starters' names in the selected language about 10 seconds after the whole minute. The name being read is shown in bold.
Language
The site is available in Swedish, English, Norwegian, Finnish and Czech. Change language in the settings or in the header — text and voice both follow.
Keep the screen awake
Turn on Keep screen awake to stop the screen from switching off. It requires a click from you and works in most modern browsers.
Screen orientation
The layout adapts automatically to portrait and landscape. In landscape the clock and the start list are placed side by side.
Logo
Show the organiser's logo above the clock. Upload an image file or enter an image link, set the size with the slider and choose a position (left, centred or right). No logo is set by default. Note that the position starts as Hidden — the logo only appears once you choose another position.
Without an internet connection
The app needs the internet while the page loads and while the start list is fetched from Eventor. After that everything runs in the browser, so the clock, the beeps and the start list keep working even if the connection drops out at the start.
- Load the page and fetch or upload the start list while you still have coverage. The list and all settings are saved in the browser.
- Don't reload the page once you are offline — it would have to be fetched from the server again.
- Change language and open this help page before you lose the connection; they are separate pages that need to be fetched.
- Choose the browser voice (offline) for the spoken names. The AI voice fetches audio from the internet every minute.
- A logo you uploaded as a file stays available offline; a logo given as an image link needs the internet.
Tips
- Turn the sound off if you only want the start list on screen.
- Use Show start list to review all imported starts.
- Settings are saved automatically in your browser.
